Ulam Villa was inspired by the first mansion I saw on television and enchanted me: the Albuquerque Figueroa mansion, from the soap opera A Rainha da Sucata, shown by Rede Globo in 1990. After finishing college I found out that the aforementioned mansion was a replica of Casa das Rosas, one of the most famous mansions on Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo. This project was entirely developed in 2011 and I used videos from the Youtube site, which showed scenes from the soap opera filmed in the representative scenarios inside the mansion, to help my conception. Based on those images, I materialized the sequence of social rooms on the ground floor. For the exterior, I based myself completely on Casa das Rosas, reproducing several of its compositional elements. My proposal also surpasses these original inspirations, with great refinement, beauty and elegance.
